Overview
As a core-less reactor, air-core reactor has an excellent linear property and it is not saturated with surge current and over current. It has no hum and vibration occurred with core type reactor and it has less over heating phenomenon by loss.
Features

2) This reactor has no core and it is suitable to be used for the case hard to use core reactor the case which has strong harmonic current and requires current limiting characteristic as it doesn't have magnetic saturation phenomenon.
3) As it has no magnetic circuit, air-core reactor is like there is no path of magnetic flux. Therefore, it may create severe leakage of magnetic flux so it has to be considered when selecting reactor type or magnetic shielding method.
4) Over-heating may occur on the device or on the magnetic side of inside of panel due to leakage flux of air-core reactor.
