Overview

As the scope of application of industrial inverter is increased, regenerative resister is needed to control the voltage rising due to the energy absorbed into inverter (VVVF) from machinery load, prevent the damage of semi-conductor device for electrical power5 and absorbs regenerative electricity.

If reducing frequency during inverter operation, inertia energy of motor and load will be restored to inverter converting into electric energy. It is used to increase deceleration power of inverter as action of over voltage protection function is prevented by consuming this regenerative energy as heat.
